Passion and Performance
Chris Marsol describes music as,
"A higher form of communication," due to the intensity that can be conveyed through musical content; instruments integrating with lyrical expression, to relay a message.
Raised in the Bay area, in a diverse environment of culture, uniqueness, and expression, Chris was inspired. His passion for music flourished at the age of 11, and intensified after educating himself to play the guitar and piano, by the age of 17. Chris was truly intrigued by music, and by Artist's such as Jimi Hendrix, Pink Floyd, Stevie Wonder, Elton John, Stone Temple Pilots, Terence Trent D'arby, Genesis, and Prince. These influences were a foundation for Chris to implement "similar" sounds into his music; undoubtedly, creating a style of his own, in the Alternative/Rock/Acoustic, soul experience.
Chris Marsol's performances have not gone unnoticed, at The House of Blues, The Palms, Roxy, Whiskey, Viper Room, and many other venues around California, in addition to participating in Charity events for USC Universal Health Care, The Hurricane Katrina Family Fund Raiser, The American Cancer Society, Cyberfest, and Atlantis Music Festival. Chris Marsol's music has also been featured in the Sony Pictures releases "Brothers in Arms," "County General," as well as, DBC Entertainment's
film "DOG."
Chris's sophomore album Butterflies, Lipstick and Hand Grenades released October 20, 2009. A powerful compilation of music, dynamically reflecting the passion in frailty, human connection, heartache, guilt, jealousy, and love. (Not one song is alike.)
