AlertSense Announces Appointment of David R. Smith as President and CEO
Developer of Crisis Communication and Collaboration Platform Also Adds Seasoned Board Directors
BOISE, Idaho, March 27, 2018 (Newswire.com) - David R. Smith, a proven senior-level executive with more than 25 years of experience successfully growing organizations of all sizes and leading publicly traded companies, is the new chief executive officer at AlertSense. In the past 15 years, Mr. Smith has scaled several startups past the $100 million level, leading to successful exits. Smith was selected to run the Idaho-based company after an extensive national search.

Von Hansen remains in his position as chairman of the board and adds additional responsibilities as executive chairman. Under Hansen’s direction the past three years, AlertSense tripled in size while significantly updating its platform.

The company also announced that Thomas Bennett and William Boeger have joined the AlertSense board of directors. Bennett is a 30-year veteran of the cybersecurity industry, a two-time CEO and former venture investor. Of his eight startups, five were acquired and another conducted a successful IPO. In addition to AlertSense, Bennett currently serves on the boards of Dragos and ThreatSTOP and on the advisory board of Cylance.
Boeger is a healthcare entrepreneur and four-time CEO with 30 years of experience in the creation of innovative medical and biomedical services, devices, diagnostics and pharmaceuticals. Boeger has served on the board of directors of 12 companies and has been chairman of five boards of directors.
