Alex Dale to be honored at the 2010 CARE Awards and walk the red carpet

Alex Dale to be honored at the 2010 C.A.R.E. Awards (an event honoring the positive contributions of children in the entertainment industry). Alex will be awarded for his writing and projects in 2009.

Alex Dale, age 13, will receive his first CARE (Child Actor Recognition Event) Award for his cameo in the independent feature film Ink, his role of John Darling in the theater version of Neverland and his participation in the pilot presentation of Yahtzee with Merv Griffin Entertainment. More recently, Alex will be featured in a music video for the band RATT and their recently released single "Best of Me."

150 child actors will be honored at the 6th annual CARE event taking place at the Globe Threatre at Universal Studios in Hollywood on March 14.

In addition to acting, Alex also writes and is currently writing a screenplay involving adventures of a teenager with some very curious creatures. Alex is has a passion for animals and conserving animal habitats and is an active member of the Nature Conservancy.

CARE Awards are based on a unique point system where young performers (18 and younger) must qualify with a combination of professional acting work in 2009, at least a 3.0 grade point average, training, a written essay, community service, parent industry knowledge, and other criteria.

The annual red-carpet CARE ceremony celebrates the positive contribution children make to the entertainment industry and is sponsored by BizParentz.org.
