Aliens Invade NYC 28th Street Subway

Kid's Creation Station, the exciting new venture bringing kid's art to life through 3D printing, joined forces with Fashion Institute of Technology [F.I.T] to present Aliens Underground: F.I.T Subway Re-Imagined.

Open to the public until August 31st 2015, this exhibit is a whimsical re-imagining of the 7th avenue 28th street subway station from F.I.T’s Illustration Class of 2015. For this year’s thesis, the students were challenged with a way to make the 28th street 1 train station more visually and spatially reflective of F.I.T’s flourishing creativity.  Working within the theme of aliens passengers and a dancing rat disco underneath the subway, the students created two-dimensional mystical and eccentric beings to populate the subway.

While the illustration department does a thesis exhibition for their graduates every year, this exhibition has a special 3D surprise. Kid’s Creation Station transformed the student’s two-dimensional art into full-color 3D printed sculptures.   Pictures of the exhibit can be viewed at AliensUnderground.com.  There is also a poster of the exhibit available as a free download at Poster.AliensUnderground.com

In addition, Kid’s Creation Station and its parent company, 3DP4E are now making the 3D printed sculptures from the exhibit available for purchase on 3DArtistsGallery.com, a new on line store for 3D printed works of art.  The company will be working with various artists and illustrators to bring their art to a new market with 3D printing.

The Aliens Underground: F.I.T Subway Re-imagined exhibit is located at Pomerantz Center lobby, on 7th avenue West 28th street.
