Alina Gorgorian Joins Clearview Treatment Programs as Clinical Director
Alina Gorgorian, Ph.D., is the new clinical director of Clearview Treatment Programs' Center for Borderline Personality and Emotional Disorders.
Online, April 11, 2011 (Newswire.com) - Alina Gorgorian, Ph.D., recently joined Clearview Treatment Programs as clinical director of its new Center for Borderline Personality and Emotional Disorders.
As clinical director, Gorgorian oversees the center's clinical program, facilitates Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) skills groups, and provides training and education on DBT to program staff.
"Dr. Gorgorian's expertise in DBT and national speaking experience position Clearview as a national leader in the treatment of Borderline Personality Disorder," said Michael Roy, MSW, founder and executive director of Clearview Treatment Programs.
Gorgorian has extensive experience with Dialectical Behavior Therapy. She completed a two-year DBT training at Bellevue Hospital in New York City and was intensively trained in DBT by Behavioral Tech, Marsha Linehan's training institute, in 2010.
She has also taught numerous courses in DBT and given talks and provided trainings in DBT for the National Alliance for Mental Illness (NAMI), AIDS Project LA, and Cal State University Long Beach Counseling and Psychological Services.
Prior to joining Clearview Treatment Programs, Gorgorian was director of adolescent DBT at CBT California. She is currently a staff research associate at UCLA, as well as adjunct faculty at Pepperdine University's Graduate School of Education and Psychology and Alliant International University's School of Forensic Psychology. She is also the current secretary of the Cognitive Behavioral Therapy Society of Southern California.
