Online, November 17, 2010 (Newswire.com) - One of the world's oldest semiconductor manufacturers, Fairchild Semiconductor International, has been fabricating chips for automotive, computer, consumer electronics, and telecommunications purposes since 1957. Based in South Portland, Maine, Fairchild is a global competitor with manufacturing locations in the United States and Southeast Asia. Recently, the company signed a software license and professional services agreement with 3C Software to implement the ImpactECS Enterprise Cost System.
The implementation of ImpactECS will give Fairchild a consistent methodology for the calculation of both standard and actual costs. With this data, they will have the means to produce meaningful variance reports by product and operation. ImpactECS will connect with Fairchild's existing PeopleSoft ERP, Workstream MES, and data warehouse systems to create an integrated costing solution that links both the front and backend operations.
"Semiconductor companies have costing complexities that are uniquely suited to the flexible architecture of ImpactECS," shared Scott Adams, Director of Sales at 3C Software. "With the addition of Fairchild, we remain confident that detailed product costing is a required business process for semiconductor manufacturers and one that we can deliver."
