Safety is a top priority for LINCOLN and that is why the automaker has equipped the 2011 MKX with innovative safety technology such as Adaptive Cruise control and blind-spot detectors. Adaptive cruise control and collision warning can sense traffic flow and react accordingly. Radar sensors monitor the speed of the vehicle in front of the car and will adjusts its speed to maintain a preferred distance from the vehicle in front. If the system detects a possible collision the system will alert the driver with an audible alert and visual notification. The brakes will also pre-charge to be ready for full responsiveness when you brake. LINCOLN's BLIS uses radar-based sensors to scan blind spots while merging or changing lanes. An LED light illuminates on the sideview mirror when another vehicle is detected. This system can also detect objects within 45-foot range from either side of the vehicle when pulling out of a parking space.
