All-New Industrial Communications Gateway for the Power and Energy Sector
Lanner today released the LEC-3013, a DIN rail-mountable industrial communications gateway
Online, October 21, 2013 (Newswire.com) - Designed from the beginning for the power and energy sector, the LEC-3013 is available in three SKUs with different I/O options, all of which include 1.5 kV magnetic isolation protection and 15 kV surge protection on the serial COM ports.
"The LEC-3013 is the next stage in our DIN rail-mounted communication with the Atom D525 CPU," said Jeffrey Wang, Senior Manager of Lanner's Industrial Communication product division. "All SKUs offer VGA display output and support both DIN rail and wall mounting capability, while also providing a choice between 4, 6, or 8 serial COM ports. The surge and ESD protection is a crucial part of making sure this industrial gateway is robust enough to handle deployment in power substations and distribution venues."
By removing the most failure-prone component of computing devices, the fan, Lanner has increased service life and reduced the need for maintenance, while careful use of materials and passive components allows the LEC-3013 to operate in a temperature range of -20 to 55°C. By using the Atom D525 as the CPU for this device, Lanner is able to offer more than enough computing power for communication and control applications while keeping power consumption and heat production to an absolute minimum.
The LEC-3013 is available in three SKUs with differing I/O options:
- LEC-3013-A4 - Fanless Industrial PC with Intel® Atom™ D525 CPU, 4 x GbE, 4 x COM ports
- LEC-3013-A6 - Fanless Industrial PC with Intel® Atom™ D525 CPU, 4 x GbE, 6 x COM ports
- LEC-3013-A8 - Fanless Industrial PC with Intel® Atom™ D525 CPU, 2 x GbE, 8 x COM ports
The LEC-3013 platform is compatible with Microsoft Windows 7, Windows XP Embedded and Linux 2.6.
