Alpha Genesis Lends Support to Yemassee Law Enforcement for Community Event
YEMASSEE, S.C., August 5, 2019 (Newswire.com) - Co-sponsors Alpha Genesis and The Town of Yemassee invite neighborhoods throughout the region to join forces with communities throughout the region for the Annual National Night Out. This nationwide event takes place Tuesday, August 6 and promotes police-community partnerships and neighborhood camaraderie. Alpha Genesis CEO Greg Westergaard states that "The Alpha Genesis Primate Research Center is proud to support this important community celebration. The Town of Yemassee is a National Treasure and we welcome everyone to come out and enjoy the party. A splendid time is guaranteed for all."
National Night Out is designed to:
1) Heighten crime and drug prevention awareness;
2) Generate support for, and participation in, local anti-crime efforts;
3) Strengthen neighborhood spirit and police-community partnerships; and
4) Send a message to criminals letting them know neighborhoods are organized and fighting back.
National Night Out takes place from 5-8 p.m., and residents throughout the Low Country and across the nation are asked to lock their doors, turn on outside lights and spend the evening outside enjoying the shared company of neighbors and police. Many neighborhoods will host special activities such as block parties, cookouts, parades, visits from police, flashlight walks, contests, youth activities and anti-crime rallies. Members of Hampton County Fire/Rescue will be working the grill and will serve up free hamburgers and hot dogs for all attendees. There will be face painters, water slides and helicopter displays from local law enforcement and air ambulance services. Various community organizations will be handing out free school supplies to children who attend.
