Matt Carter is President, Sprint Wholesale Solutions. Carter oversees Sprint's nationwide rollout of fourth generation broadband wireless services and manages the profit and loss of Sprint's Wholesale business unit, which provides wholesale wireless (voice and data), Voice over Internet Protocol (VoIP), M2M/embedded solutions, and traditional global wholesale solutions to the marketplace.
Prior to becoming President, Sprint Wholesale Solutions, Carter served as President of Boost Mobile, which is part of Sprint's prepaid group, where he was responsible for reenergizing the Boost brand. Carter was overwhelmingly successful with the launch of a groundbreaking new service offering combined with breakthrough marketing. Prior to Boost Mobile, Carter served as Senior Vice President of Base Management at Sprint where he drove coordinated marketing efforts to the customer base.
Carter's leadership and telecom experience spans more than 20 years across diverse industries with well-known companies such as Bristol Myers, Coca-Cola, Leap Wireless, PNC Financial Services, Raytheon and BellSouth. Recognized as a thought-leader in the wireless industry, Carter lends his expertise at global telecom events and has been recognized by major national business outlets such as Forbes and Fox Business News for leading the 2008-2009 transformation of Sprint's Boost Mobile prepaid brand from a perceived non-threatening wireless player into a formidable competitor.
In October 2009, Matt Carter achieved a Top 25 rank of most powerful people in the U.S. wireless industry by Fierce Wireless. Carter was also recently featured as a "Power Player" for spearheading Boost Mobile's dramatic comeback in the December 2009 issue of Black Enterprise. Under his leadership, Boost Mobile, headquartered in Irvine, Calif., was listed as a Best Place to Work in The Orange County Register, The Best of Orange County Lists and the Orange County Business Journal. Matt Carter also received an American Business award for Turnaround Executive of the Year. Carter led the turnaround for Sprint's Boost Mobile prepaid group from 2008-2009 before being appointed president of the company's 4G high-speed mobile broadband initiative in early 2010.
A member of the Board of Directors for the COMPTEL organization, Inbrics Company Limited, and the NHSBA - Carter holds a Bachelor's degree from Northwestern University and a Master of Business Administration from Harvard Business School.
