Amberjack Solar Energy Reports Heightened Demand For Clean Energy

OAKLAND ― Lance Kulick, founder of Amberjack Solar Energy in Oakland, said that increased consumer awareness of the benefits of energy conservation.

OAKLAND - Lance Kulick, founder of Amberjack Solar Energy in Oakland, said that increased consumer awareness of the benefits of energy conservation and heightened customer demand for solar panel installations have fueled a big uptick in his firm's hiring needs in the first quarter of 2011. In January alone, Kulick added 10 employees - four sales, service and management personnel and six installers. He has plans to hire up to 25 installers by the end of 2011 to keep up with demand for the custom solar photovoltaic (PV) systems his company sells and installs on commercial buildings throughout New Jersey.

One of the new hires was Joe D'Achino of West Milford, a solar technical consultant.

Amberjack was recently contracted to install solar panels on 12 municipal buildings in Garfield and to install a system on the East Orange Water Commission's administration building. As part of Amberjack's commitment to the municipalities where it will be installing solar PV systems, Kulick plans to hire and train workers in those communities to perform the system installations.

New hires bring diverse experience to Amberjack operations

In addition to D'Achino, Amberjack welcomed the following new employees to its front-office roster: Brian Katz of Hoboken, sales; Jamie Lubin of Fair Lawn, solar analyst; and Sara Hambleton of Pine Bush, N.Y. as director of technology. Hambleton has in-depth experience in energy conservation services, having sold, implemented, and installed solar PV systems throughout New Jersey and New York. She is certified as a solar PV installer by the North American Board of Certified Energy Practitioners (NABCEP).

"NABCEP certification is the highest level of achievement in solar design, engineering and installation," noted Kulick. "This certification ensures that Amberjack installations will be designed properly for each unique building, in a way that maximizes system production and return on investment."

Solar Technical Analyst D'Achino brings a wealth of video production and computer technical experience to Amberjack, according to Kulick. He will be in charge of each installation's solar monitoring systems to ensure they run at peak performance. D'Achino will prepare all 3-D computer assisted designs (CAD) for system layouts, and prepare the sales tools for Lubin and Katz to use for solar PV system design and analysis. In addition, he will head up the installation on 12 municipal buildings in Garfield for which Amberjack was contracted last fall.

"Clean energy is in great demand in New Jersey," said Kulick. "As operating budgets continue to be squeezed, and the pressure to improve energy efficiency continues to grow, the demand for solar PV systems has nowhere to go but up."
