America And China's Economic Effects On The Australian Economy
Online, June 3, 2010 (Newswire.com) - (SAN DIEGO, CA, June 4, 2010) - The June issue of Business Review Australia, Australia's leading digital business publication for C-level executives, features an article written by Alan Kohler, Editor-In-Chief of Eureka Report and Business Spectator, examining how America and China will effect Australia's economy in 2010.
"Markets Outlook 2010: The Bet Is On Australia!" forecasts that for Australia's economy and market, 2010 is likely to be all about the struggle between America and China - one declining, one rising. Alan Kohler describes the current key economic differences between the two countries, and predicts what's to come this year. "Gold will continue to rise despite its all-time high, because there is now a lot of suspicion about paper money around the world as governments print huge amounts of money. Also, no new large gold mines have been opened in decades and the central banks that have huge gold reserves above ground are less interested in selling than in the past. They are actually buying gold now to diversify away from US dollars," says Kohler in the article.
This has also been the decade when China arrived and changed everything for Australia. That, and the lack of a dot.com bust in Australia, is why the Australian sharemarket outperformed the rest of the world from the beginning of the decade, Kohler describes in the article.
Alan Kohler is one of Australia's most experienced commentators and journalists. Former editor of the Australian Financial Review and The Age, he is now Editor-In-Chief of Eureka Report and its sister publication Business Spectator. Kohler is also the finance presenter on ABC News and host of Inside Business on ABC TV each Sunday.
