American Cancer Society "Denim & Diamonds" Spring Gala Set For May 19, 2012

Online, April 29, 2012 (Newswire.com) - With an enthusiastic committee revved up and planning the American Cancer Society's "Denim & Diamonds" Spring Gala on Saturday, May 19, 2012, guests can look forward to exciting evening of entertainment, dancing, fine dining, silent and live auctions. Starting at 6:00 p.m., the fundraiser will be held at the La Fonda Hotel, 100 E. San Francisco in Santa Fe, New Mexico.

"This will be one of the most exciting galas of the year, and I would like to invite area residents and visitors alike to come out for a great time and a worthy cause," said Melanie Morais, gala committee chair.

Melanie pointed out that sponsors and other donors will have an opportunity to support the important work of the American Cancer Society to fund cancer research across the country and local cancer patient programs and services. "In addition, donations will be raised to support Camp Enchantment, the American Cancer Society's one-week camp for children with cancer in New Mexico."

Along with Melanie Morais, committee members include, Sam Armijo, Liz Christianson, Cathy Kosak, Eva Maestas, Alex Martinez, Carolyn Moore, Andrea Multari, Dion Silva, Dominic Silva, and Susan Vigil.

The evening will begin with a cocktail hour and silent auction bidding, followed by dinner and a live auction. Live auction items include, a diamond pendant, custom hand-made acoustic guitar, 1-week lodging in a private Mexican hacienda, a bronze relief sculpture, and catered Italian dinner. Entertainment and music for the evening will be provided by Bill Hearne Trio.

The American Cancer Society is the nationwide community-based voluntary health organization dedicated to saving lives and creating more birthdays by helping people get well and stay well, by finding cures and fighting back against cancer.
