American Diabetes Association® Cookbooks Named Silver Winners In 2013 Nautilus Book Awards

ASIAN FLAVORS DIABETES COOKBOOK AND THE FAMILY CLASSICS DIABETES COOKBOOK TAKE HONORS

ASIAN FLAVORS DIABETES COOKBOOK and THE FAMILY CLASSICS DIABETES COOKBOOK, both published by the American Diabetes Association, received Silver Winner status from the Nautilus Awards. The Nautilus Book Awards, now in its thirteenth year, honors "Better Books for a Better World"-books that inspire and connect peoples' lives as individuals, communities, and global citizens. Both books won in the Food/Cooking/Healthy Eating category, which promote books that focus on preparing food that tastes good, nourishes the body, and appeals to the senses, as well as including nutritional guidance and dietary information.

ASIAN FLAVORS DIABETES COOKBOOK: Simple, Fresh Meals Perfect for Every Day is written by award-winning cookbook author and chef Corinne Trang. It's the association's first Asian-cuisine devoted cookbook that takes naturally healthy recipes and meals and crafts them specifically for people with diabetes. The book has more than 110 recipes that consist of simple comfort foods from all over Asia, including wontons, fresh spring rolls, chicken satay, and much more.

THE FAMILY CLASSICS DIABETES COOKBOOK: Over 140 Favorite Recipes From The Pages Of Diabetes Forecast Magazine is a collection of the best recipes from the American Diabetes Association's Diabetes Forecast® magazine. Focusing first on flavor and variety, Family Classics features the best ingredients-fish, seafood, and lean meats (healthy proteins, less fat); non-starchy vegetables (vitamin-, mineral-, and fiber-rich) and whole grains (fiber); as well as herbs and spices (for great flavor and less salt).

The recipes in both books meet the American Diabetes Association's nutrition guidelines, ensuring they're a perfect match for nearly any diabetes meal plan.

Both titles are available at ShopDiabetes.org, at bookstores nationwide, or by calling 1-800-232-6733.
