American Ethiopian Public Affairs Committee Endorses Angela Alsobrooks for US Senate

Diaspora Group Cites County Executive’s Longtime Support of Ethiopian Community

The American Ethiopian Public Affairs Committee (AEPAC) today proudly announces its endorsement of County Executive Angela Alsobrooks in Maryland‘s 2024 U.S. Senate election.

AEPAC Chairman Mesfin Tegenu cites Ms. Alsobrooks’ friendly relations with and continued support of the African Diaspora Community – including tens of thousands of Ethiopian Americans, who live in the great state of Maryland – as the basis for AEPAC’s endorsement. The Ethiopian diaspora plays a vital role in advancing the U.S.-Ethiopia partnership.

In this regard, Mesfin noted, “AEPAC’s mission is to bring the U.S. and Ethiopia closer because we believe a stable Ethiopia is the best way to preserve peace and stability in the Horn of Africa and advance U.S. interests in the region. We believe that Ms. Alsobrooks will be a great partner in helping achieve that goal,” and concluded, “Angela Alsobrooks is a champion for diversity, and fights for equality and justice. She understands her community and can bring people together. She has been an inspiring and trusted leader, a fighter for women, children, and families. She advocates for her constituents and shares their concerns. We are proud to endorse her.”
