Online, November 28, 2013 (Newswire.com) - American Sensor Technologies pressure sensors are now registered to ANSI/ASME B31.3 under Canadian Registered Number #0F13183.2 which authorizes them for use on process piping systems throughout Canada typically used in petroleum refineries, chemical, pharmaceutical, textile, paper, semiconductor, and cryogenic plants.
Pressurized equipment above 50 PSI in pressure needs to be registered with each Canadian province to ensure that the component (sensor, fitting, valve, etc) can withstand certain pressure overload conditions. AST pressure transmitters are certified for use within each province of Canada.
Rather than certify to ASME B40 for mechanical gauges, AST has registered to the more universal B31.3 code encompassing piping and fittings. AST pressure transmitters can be configured to operate at a maximum pressure of 21,000 PSI using an F250C process connection and Inconel material.
