America's Warrior Partnership Makes Grant Announcement
Charleston, SC, February 25, 2016 (Newswire.com) - America’s Warrior Partnership announced a $299,700 grant to Palmetto Warrior Connection (PWC) for their veterans’ community integration program serving the Low Country. Another potential $100,000 was awarded for PWC’s supporting partners under the America’s Warrior Partnership’s sub-grant program. PWC is one of six communities currently funded by America’s Warrior Partnership, a national nonprofit that works with communities, other nonprofits, and corporations to build and maintain broad veteran-centric programs. This grant represents the third year of a three-year agreement between the two agencies to provide services to veterans and their families in the Low Country of South Carolina.
PWC uses the model established by America’s Warrior Partnership to engage and assist veterans as well as servicemen and women who are preparing to transition out of the military back into civilian life. Their services include assistance with housing, employment, education, medical benefits and other services. In addition to the funding, America’s Warrior Partnership also provides all six of its communities with mentoring, oversight, training and an information system designed to improve collaborative veteran services.

Husser says the three years of support provided by America’s Warrior Partnership has enabled PWC to grow while building its financial independence. We identify communities that are veteran-centric and mentor them until they are self-sufficient.”
