America's Warrior Partnership Recognizes Upstate Warrior Solution for Delivering Holistic Support to 80% of Local Post-9/11 Veterans

-- Nonprofit's network of community partners proactively connects veterans in Upstate South Carolina with local and national resources to improve their livelihoods --

America’s Warrior Partnership today recognized Upstate Warrior Solution for its success in engaging 80% of the post-9/11 military veteran population living in Upstate South Carolina with proactive, holistic support programs. As the latest generation of military service members continues the transition to civilian life, these services assist veterans, their families and caregivers in navigating challenges related to housing, employment, healthcare, education, family support and more.

As an affiliate of America’s Warrior Partnership, Upstate Warrior Solution employs the Community Integration service model to engage veterans while bringing local service providers together to provide holistic services. Through this service model, Upstate Warrior Solution and its partners are empowered to proactively meet veterans where they live in their communities and guide them through their unique challenges.

“The purpose of Community Integration is to empower organizations with the tools, connections and best practices they need to create a service program that is customized to the unique situations of their local veterans,” said Jim Lorraine, president and CEO of America’s Warrior Partnership. “The Upstate Warrior Solution has taken our mission to heart by leading the creation of a robust network of local service providers that is steadily progressing towards its goal of improving the lives of every local veteran, family member and caregiver.”

One of Upstate Warrior Solution’s most impactful initiatives has been a veteran outreach program conducted in partnership with local law enforcement based in Greenville, Anderson, Pickens, Spartanburg and Oconee counties. The partnership has empowered Upstate Warrior Solution to identify and engage post-9/11 veterans who may not have access to traditional service programs.

“One of the most important lessons we have learned since launching in 2013 is that no single organization can holistically serve veterans on its own,” said Charlie Hall, president of Upstate Warrior Solution. “Instead of reinventing the wheel to solve a problem, we have built connections with veterans-serving organizations who have already developed a solution and are actively implementing it. We serve, in a way, as the quarterback helping veterans find the best resources for assistance in improving their lives.”

The milestone of engaging 80% of post-9/11 veterans living in Upstate South Carolina is the latest stride towards Upstate Warrior Solution’s goal of connecting and proactively building relationships with all veterans – from every era and all walks of life – living in the region.
