Andhra University Announces 3 Day Certification Course on Embedded Systems and Applications
Andhra University, The Institution of Engineers(India) and Embedded Wings jointly organizing a 3 Day certification program on Embedded Systems and Applications.
Online, November 26, 2011 (Newswire.com) - Embedded systems are ubiquitous. Microcontroller is the 'brain' of embedded systems. Unlike microprocessors (CPU in PC), a microcontroller does not require peripherals such as external RAM or external storage devices to operate. This means that although microcontrollers can be less powerful than their PC counterpart, developing circuits and products based on microcontrollers is much simpler and less expensive since very few additional hardware components are required. It is important to note that a microcontroller can output only a very small amount of electrical power through its pins; this means that a generic microcontroller will not be able to power electrical motors, solenoids, large lights, or any other large load directly. Many microcontrollers readily support the most popular communication protocols such as UART, RS232, SPI, and I2C. It is always possible to program them in Assembler but this privilege is reserved for more advanced users with very special requirements. In this sense, everyone should be able to find a programming language that best suit their taste and previous programming experience.
The Director of the program Prof. PurnaChandra Rao garu introducing the certification course and telling that the participants learn 8051 Microcontroller - Addressing Modes, Instruction Set and Assembly Language Programming of 8051 - Interfacing of Peripherals to Microcontroller - Applications of Embedded Systems. Notes on lectures and experiments, in the form of a book, shall be given to the participants at the Registration Desk on January 6, 2012. Interfacing implementation for 8051 with (1) LED, (2) Stepper Motor, (3) Matrix Keypad, (4) 7-Segment Display, (5) LCD and many simple and complex experiments along with a few mini-projects.
PARTICIPATION: The course is open to teachers/teacher-in-charges and technicians of laboratories in degree, polytechnic, P.G. and engineering colleges. A few seats are available for B.Sc., B.E., M.Sc., M.Sc.(Tech.), M.E., M.Tech., M.Phil. & Ph.D. students pursuing electronics discipline.
The program start by 9.00 AM at Department of Systems Design, Andhra University on 6 Jan 2012. The registration fee for the program is Rs 650/- and registration forms can be download at Andhra University website www.andhrauniversity.info.
For more information, interested candidates can contact Prof. M. Purnachandra Rao on 91-9848011431 or email at [email protected].
