Online, September 17, 2010 (Newswire.com) - (SAN DIEGO, CA) - In an interview with Manufacturing Digital, Andrew Brawley, CEO of Silanna Semiconductor divulges the success behind his manufacturing company.
The Company has a shop floor control system called Mesa that was developed by CamStar in the United States. It is a statistical process control system that takes all parameters of the line and allows the workers to monitor and target various parameters in that line. "This is how we maintain very tight control of the manufacturing process," Brawley says in the interview. "It's an excellent system for that."
The Company just completed a fabrication plant that cost $30 million, which is one of the main reasons why they're doing a lot of hiring at the present time.
"It's quite different technology compared to what we've built up over the years," Brawley states. "What we built was a compound semiconductor R&D facility to develop some very unique technologies around Silicon-on-Sapphire and possibly other materials that we're investigating now."
