"When I think back to that horrific, violent crime that almost claimed my life in 2012, I could never have imagined what was to come. I am truly humbled by all these accolades for both my documentary films and music. My goal was to recover from Post Traumatic Stress Disorder, and to win this prestigious award from Best Shorts is like a fairy tale!"
