Online, June 16, 2012 (Newswire.com) - Anittel Group Limited (ASX: 'AYG') is pleased to announce that its Board of Directors has approved upgrade proposals to Anittel's National Private Carrier Network and Hosted Infrastructure systems. Across Australia, Anittel will be upgrading equipment in 12 national data centre Point of Interconnect (PoI) locations. This significant investment will help support the continued growth of Anittel's Cloud, Internet and Telecommunication services.
Managing Director & Executive Chairman Peter Kazacos has welcomed the announcement, "With thousands of users now utilising different aspects of Anittel's Private Network, the investment is a testament to our commitment to Cloud, Internet and Telecommunication services. There is still a great deal of growth in this market; we will continue to focus, develop and integrate these connectivity services", said Kazacos.
Anittel Chief Technology Officer, Steven Crockett outlines the specifications of the network upgrade: "Anittel will be implementing approximately $2 million worth of the latest Cisco ASR9000 series Carrier Switch/Routers, Cisco Metro Ethernet Aggregation routers and Cisco UCS Blade Server Systems. We are upgrading our network nodes in each state with clustered ASR9000 switch/routers interconnected via diverse Dark Fibre rings and redundant inter-capital capacity. These changes will significantly enhance the throughput capacity, quality and classes of service that we can offer our customers."
"The Cisco UCS Blade Server Systems will provide significant upgrades and extensions to our existing Cloud Services Platform. Each compute node features over a Terabyte of ram, with multiple redundant compute nodes being implemented per state. The Cisco UCS servers provides us with the ability to offer a wide range of applications and services including virtualised Hosted Cisco Unified Communication (UC) applications which further extend our Hosted Cisco PBX offering", Crockett continued.
"We are incredibly excited about our new service capability. This investment in our Network and Cloud systems demonstrates our commitment to building a significant national carrier and cloud services business", said Crockett.
Anittel will look to combine its improved private network capacity with its regional foot print and position as a NBN partner. Organisations across Australia will soon have access to these enhanced connectivity services.
