Announcement of Intern, Volunteer & Employment Opportunities

Christian publisher, Renee A Harlem Publications (RAHP) seeks interns, volunteers and vendors for its forthcoming publication, "The Iowa ARK" newspaper.

Christian publisher, Renee A Harlem Publications (RAHP), is pleased to announce its pending launch of "The Iowa ARK" newspaper to help save local homeless and formerly homeless from the unemployment flood. A non-traditional publication, The Iowa ARK will feature true stories of Iowans working together for the common good. Profiles of local "good Samaritans," independent businesses serving the homeless, and self-development resources for the under-worked will make The Iowa ARK a standout read in its class. The newspaper will not carry typical gossip columns or negative commentaries.

The Iowa ARK is first and foremost a street newspaper. The street paper movement is an international publishing phenomenon. However, there is currently no other street newspaper in the state of Iowa, registered with the National Association of Street Newspapers for North America. Street papers typically offer an employment opportunity to the homeless community who serve as local vendors. Street papers provide a legitimate income source and may carry the additional benefit of a launch pad out of homelessness for its dedicated vendors. Thus, The Iowa ARK will provide jobs and good will.

The Iowa ARK is currently working with and recruiting homeless and formerly homeless professional and volunteer writers, photographers, planners and other development staff to build a solid publication. Positions are also available for journalism, marketing and publishing interns and volunteers. Homeless and formerly homeless persons are especially encouraged to apply for independent distribution and all other positions.

The expected launch for this life-changing publication is February 1, 2011. For application or more information and to join the Iowa street paper movement chartered by The Iowa ARK, including your financial, professional, and or other contribution to its success and work of mission for the homeless community, please contact RAHP founder and president, Shenica Graham at http://shenicagraham.wordpress.com/contact.
