The PlaySport is waterproof up to a depth of 9.8 feet (3 meters) in water.Be careful in water because the Kodak camcorder does not float. Even though the rubberized coating makes the camcorder appear shockproof it is not.. Small falls will probably not hurt the camcorder. The rubberized coating help protect the outside of the camcorder from nicks and dents.

There is no need to adjust any dials. The quality of the video is very impressive and campares to the Flip video camcorders. Our recorded test video was very sharp with excellent contrast and accurate colors.

the still photographs the camcorder can take are 5 megapixels and are OK quality. They will never equal a regular digital still camera. A camcorders still photo are similar in quality to a cell phone photo. The Flip video camcorder doesn't take still photos at all.You could get a still photo from a Flip video camcorder by using the software that comes with it to take a frame grab.Because you are taking a still in the Kodak camcorder you will most likely see a better quality still over a Flip video camcorder.

There is 128mb of built-in memory in the PlaySport. But the built in Arcsoft Media Impressions software takes up 100mb of the built in memory so you will need to purchase and add an SD or SDHC card. The camera will take up to a 32gb memory card.

Because of the low price, the Kodak Playsport Zx3 is a good buy in a camcorder.It records impressive HD quality video for its size and it also has a very good image stabilization system.
