1.Better support for the WAP 2.0 Standard
The WAP2.0 support means you can find the web colorful from their display and interact with your fingers. In WAP1.0 time, mobile browsers have to display some basic elements on webpages, such as text and pictures; but in WAP2.0 time, mobile browser can bring more elements for users, it can make an obvious increase of your mobile browsing experience.

2.Enhanced Performance
After we release our 7.2 version in July, we've received some valuable feedbacks from our fans, which hoped us to make our browser faster than ever before, even it had been faster than other mobile browsers. In UC Browser 7.4, we've added more servers on the worldwide for the increasing users, and our engineers are working hard to utilize the code for better execution efficiency.

After three months' hard work, we've got an increase both on the server side and the client side. As a result, we successfully make our performance for 30% increase than ever before, which means you can save up to 30% of time when browsing.

3.Cursor mode as the default
In previous version, we provide "common mode" (a mode you can control the page through your keypad or navigation key) as our default browsing mode, key 2 and 8 means up/down of cursor while 4 and 6 means "Page Up" & "Page Down"

It's really an effective way for browsing if you are familiar with our powerful shortcut system. But for new users, they often get confused because they are more familiar with the cursor mode. So we choose the cursor mode as the default browsing mode in this update version to make users easy to use. We also add some animations into the cursor mode, now you can find it become transparent if you let the cursor stay in the blank place for a few while (only work in Symbian S60V3)

If you prefer the browsing mode in UC Browser 7.2, you can change it back by clicking menu - preference -browser mode.

4.My Shortcut
This is a totally new feature in UC Browser 7.4, and which is also our attempt to make your browsing more easily. It looks like familiar for Opera mini users, because it will remind you of the "speed dial". But it's not just speed dial, it's "My Shortcut" only in UC Browser.

The "My Shortcut" will display four squares in the home screen at the first time for you to add your favorite sites. You can import from your browsing history, or just type the address. You can stick them by clicking key 1 when you move the cursor on the new square or cancel the existing stick. And if four squares is not enough, it doesn't matter, we've provide EIGHT for you.

5.New Start Page Design

The sites in the new navigation are still collected by their popularity and content, and we choose to display the 12 most popular sites in logos, which you can easily find them. We also change almost 3 or 4 sites in a line to only 2 sites in a line, and you can visit more sites on the same group just by clicking the group name, then you'll be led to a new page with more sites with similar content for you to explore. With the support of WAP2.0, you can find the new navigation is becoming more pretty than ever before.

6.Free Copy (for Symbian platform)
Yes, it comes back to the Symbian platform. In the last version, we didn't provide this function on the consideration of binary size. Our users love it so much that we often find posts in our forum to require it back. The rewriting of the code this time makes it becomes true.

7.Improved Feedback

8.Country Select Page

This is also our work for localization. In the past three versions, we provide different binaries to users from different countries, which makes some users troubling from choosing the right file they want.

In this update, you will see just one file covering all the languages, what you need to do is just choosing your platform, then you can meet the country select page during the installation.

9.Splash Screen(for Java platform)
Right now we have released four language versions for different countries, they are Russian, Vietnamese, Bahasa Indonesia and English. The English version is for users worldwide, and the other three language versions are more localized. In order to make these three products more accepted by our users in these three countries, we decide to make a difference.
