Answering Service Opens English-Portuguese Call Center
In response to overwhelming customer demand, Specialty Answering Service is expanding their multilingual capability to include a Portuguese operator relay translation service for it's customers.
Online, March 15, 2011 (Newswire.com) - Specialty Answering Service, the nation's fastest growing answering service, announced today plans to tap into a new bilingual market; Portuguese. While Specialty boosts one of the one true English-Spanish call centers in the country, Portuguese is not currently an option. Esther Cardin, Specialty's marketing coordinator, stated that potential customers are asking more and more if a Portuguese language option is available. While no other answering service currently offers this option, in house, Portuguese call centers seem to be the next frontier in the industry.
Portuguese along with Spanish is the fastest growing language in North America. While the Spanish language has a bigger sphere of influence, Portuguese has the greater potential. Currently in the United States, Portuguese is spoken by approximately three-quarters of a million people in the USA. Additionally there are about 200,000 Portuguese speaking people in Canada. In the United States, there are pockets of large populations of Portuguese speaking individuals scattered throughout the countries. These pockets exist in segments of California, New York, New Jersey, Florida, Connecticut, Massachusetts, and Rhode Island. There are also areas located in Canada where the language is prevalent. The Portuguese speaking individuals located in areas of Toronto and Montreal. The Caribbean and Bermuda also support a large Portuguese speaking population.
Specialty is looking to the future of the Portuguese language as the catalyst for opening this call center. In addition to the current opportunities that running a Portuguese call center have to offer, the potential is mind blowing. While a relatively small population of native speakers exists in the United States, estimates of growth are staggering. Yet, the greatest opportunity exists in the European market. The need for Portuguese call centers in Europe is at record levels. Specialty has been very successful over the last two years in growing their presence overseas. While many United States answering services are outsourcing their calls overseas, Specialty is actually importing business into the United States. With many Eastern European centers shutting their doors, Specialty is aggressively attacking the European market. With the addition of a Portuguese offering, Specialty looks to expand their presence even further.
While Specialty is taking an international approach to their call centers, they remain a one hundred percent United States Company. Regardless of where the client is located or what language they speak, every call is answered in the United States. That approach will not change. While outsourcing is popular, Specialty Answering Service adheres to the fact that overseas call centers are ineffective. With a current offering of English and Spanish language answering service, and a Portuguese option coming soon, Specialty continues to grow and adapt with the global business enviornment.
