API Technologies Announces First North American Order for Its Explosive Disposal Robot

Online, July 20, 2010 (Newswire.com) - API Technologies Corp (OTC Bulletin Board: ATNY), a provider of highly engineered products and services to the global defense sector, announces that it has completed the sale of the teleMAX™ Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD) Robot to the City of Atlanta, Georgia. The total sale, API's first in North America, is valued at approximately $300,000. The EOD robot is for use at the Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport, the world's busiest passenger airport, which serves approximately 88 million passengers per year.

The teleMAX™ robot weighs 175 pounds, is compact enough to fit into a truck or van and can be easily lifted by two people. It is mass-transit capable, making it ideal for use in aircraft, trains, buses, subways, and public spaces. The robot can easily climb stairs and inclines at an angle of up to 45 degrees, access confined spaces and roll down the center aisle of a passenger jet. In addition, the robot's operator can remain at a significant and safe distance when the robot is in use.
