Appiction - Leader in Mobile Applications Development

Appiction is a full-service mobile applications development house based in Austin, Texas focusing on enterprise, marketing and startup smartphone apps.

Austin - America's largest mobile app development and services firm announced Monday the launch of a partnership program allowing the company to share in development costs of innovative smartphone applications development in exchange for a share in the project's revenue. Appiction created these partnerships with the goal of helping app-related companies arrive to market quicker with more engaging products, and to allow the Austin, Texas-based Appiction to invest more heavily in, and share in the success of, its own work.

"As a customer-driven business, we have plenty of experience developing apps. But, we also want to be seen as a valued partner in helping our customers launch successful new app businesses. With certain projects, we are willing to take the extra risk to share in our partner's success," said Jeff Sunshine, Appiction's CFO and Head of Corporate & Business Development. "Apple continues to raise the bar in the app store, and more and more of those apps that are succeeding are part of full-blown businesses. As is the case with many early-stage businesses, the initial investment can be significant, but the long-term rewards can be huge. We want to be a part of that journey with our partners and help give great app ideas the leg-up they need to launch."

Appiction's CEO, Spencer Forrest, and Sunshine first conceived of partnerships as a way for the app services firm to help customers with promising ideas navigate the demands of the app marketplace. Appiction has been trialing partnerships in order to evaluate the financial return the program would bring to both parties, and has officially launched the program with the release of the iTunes app store's first peer-to-peer advice app, Advice. The partnership with Advice has allowed Appiction to assist in introducing the app to a global audience of users, and respond to users' suggestions, all while keeping the investment reasonable for creator Julien Delepine.

Over the next few months Appiction will release ten additional apps utilizing this partnership structure in categories including games, social networking, medical, finance and entertainment. These upcoming releases operate under both free and paid business models, with Appiction sharing in the revenue.

"Apps aren't products that get finished and put on a shelf," Forrest said. "Both the product and marketing have to evolve with competition and user demands. Partnerships allow Appiction to work closely with its clients to add product updates and new features, implement effective revenue models, and change to meet the demands of the various marketplaces. An app's marketing is intimately tied with its development, and that's why we want to be intimately tied with the companies behind the apps we develop."

Appiction continues to seek partnerships with select companies and entrepreneurs that demonstrate originality, scalability, and innovative revenue models. Appiction invites those with app ideas and business plans to contact the company directly to inquire about the partnership program.

"This is a winning situation for both parties," Forrest said. "It allows businesses, large or small, to fully realize the potential of their app without having to first launch with a watered-down version. We want to help companies have the best product going to the store, as well as an on-going plan that lets us grow together."
