Apple Is Overrated Say Brits
Online, June 23, 2010 (Newswire.com) - Thursday marks the release date of Apple's iPhone 4 which has already sold out so that pre-orders have had to be blocked. With Apple playing an increasingly prominent role in the technology market in recent years, mingle trend conducted a representative survey to ask Briton's how they rate the hype surrounding the brand and its products.
60% were of the opinion that Apple is overrated with only a third agreeing with the level of excitement. A mere 3% felt the brand could be publicised more.
The younger generation is most likely to agree with its prominence in today's society with around 40% however over half feel the hype is over the top. This figure reaches over 70% for those in their fifties. 6% of twenty-somethings think the hype could be even bigger whereas this figure is no more than 2% for any other age group.
The excitement is considered overrated even more so across the channel with 77% and 81% in France and Germany respectively, according to similar surveys conducted.
So Thursday will probably see many people excitedly upgrading their iPhone or even entering the smart phone market for the first time but on the other hand there will be many Brits who just wish the Apple hype would calm down.
