Online, December 6, 2010 (Newswire.com) - Application Security, Inc. (AppSec), the leading provider of database security, risk and compliance (SRC) solutions for the enterprise, today announced that the film 'Audit This!' directed by David Johnson has been selected as the grand prize winner of the third annual Database Security Video Smackdown.
The film, 'Audit This,' a tongue-in-cheek commercial for AppSec's product DbProtect, won $2,000 for its overall originality, creativity, humor, and understanding of the company's products and demographic.
"The creativity of our contestants continues to amaze me," said Thom VanHorn, vice president, global marketing, AppSec. "We are now in the contests third year and the submissions get better and better. The winning submission as well as the other entries not only illustrated the concept that database security is important, but did so in a manner that exhibited humor and creative expression. Due to the high quality of the entries, our judges had a very difficult time selecting a winner."
The contest's other two finalists were 'Ninjas, Database Security and YOU' by Jonathan Mann and 'Database Security is Important' by Tim Armstrong. Both receive a $500 consolation prize. 'Ninjas, Database Security and YOU' is a creative and catchy song from Mann's original Song-a-Day series that will leave listeners humming for days. Armstrong's 'Database Security is Important' will make any DbProtect user feel like they're walking on sunshine. In addition, Thomas Marshall's film, 'The Case of Database Security' received an honorable mention and will be awarded a prize of $100.
