April 21, Reno Wine Walk Supports the Washoe County Library

Help support Friends of Washoe County Library and the Reno Riverwalk District during the Reno Wine Walk, on Saturday, April 21, from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m., a perfect occasion to show appreciation for community, and wine.

It’s not only the love of a favorite red or white wine worth celebrating this April, but it’s also a day to show support for a favorite charity. Each month portions of the proceeds for the Reno Wine Walk benefit local charitable organizations. In over six years the event organizers have donated more than $101,000 to local nonprofits.

This April the Riverwalk District’s monthly event will be supporting the Friends of the Washoe County Library. Founded in 1980, Friends of Washoe County Library is a member-supported 501(c)(3) Nevada nonprofit organization dedicated to advocating, fundraising, and providing support for the Washoe County Library System. They offer the community a chance to invest in the success of the Library by donating funds or volunteering to ensure a first-class public library for Washoe County residents.

The Wine Walk is a monthly event held on the third Saturday where you purchase a decorative wine glass for a $20 wine-tasting fee. With wine glass in hand and a valid photo ID, you’ll receive an ID bracelet, which allows you to sample wine at any of the 20-plus participating merchant locations. Many of the businesses hand paint each individual wine glass, which attendees get to take home. At the end of the event attendees enter to win over $800 in gift cards from all the participating merchants during a 5 p.m. raffle.
