Online, March 28, 2011 (Newswire.com) - Travel around the world in two days with the students of Arborland Montessori Children's Academy at their International Culture Day!
The annual spring event, which will be held on April 7 and 8, showcases the world's many cultures through performances presented by the students. Prepare to spend the days with fun and excitement while learning about different countries - understanding the uniqueness and significance of each one.
Children and spectators alike enjoy the song, dance and theatrical productions representing different nations given by every class. This year, the performances will be showing traditions and costumes from Africa, Australia, East Asia, Central America, South America, Europe and the USA.
After delighting in the customs and sartorial representations of the countries, you can excite your palates with flavors from all over the world. Classrooms will be converted into the nations the classes have represented, transporting visitors to new and exciting places without breaking the bank.
Why celebrate International Culture Day, you ask. According to Dr. Maria Montessori, whose educational philosophy is embodied at Arborland, children need to understand and accept that there is so much diversity around them. The constant exposure to various cultures gives the irreplaceable knowledge that differences should be celebrated and appreciated, instead of abhorred. To be good citizens of the world, we must all understand that the world is much bigger than we perceive it to be.
Reporters and photographers are invited. Come and expand your worldview with us on two fun-filled days of exploration, education and excitement! For additional information, please call our Principal, Dr. Sueling Chen, at (714) 871-3111 or (714) 871-2311.
