PACOIMA, California, September 14, 2010 (Marketwire) - Arc Machines, Inc. (AMI) of Pacoima, California, leaders & innovators in orbital GTAW tube and pipe welding, announces two new recent business additions which expand their product and service offerings.

On June 28th Arc Machines concluded the purchase from Apparent Technologies of Austin, Texas of the rights for their range of patented advanced TIG weld heads. These highly innovative weld heads feature pneumatic closing, automatic centering of welded components and a pre-weld alignment read-out which significantly reduces set-up times and weld errors in high productivity and high purity welding applications. Taken in conjunction with their expanded range of Power Supplies and weld heads, including the range of Exel products acquired in 2008, AMI now offers the broadest and most sophisticated range of orbital tube welding products in the industry.

In addition, AMI announces the establishment of a new Engineering Services Division in Charlotte, NC under the leadership of Ron Payne. The Engineering Services Division will provide a full range of application engineering services including program management, equipment and process development, and support services for power generation and other advanced welding applications. The Charlotte, NC region is rapidly becoming the technology center for the design and construction of new nuclear power plants. Locating the new division in Charlotte strategically situates AMI to better serve this emerging market need and provides improved customer access to the company's products and expertise across all industries. Ron Payne is a highly experienced and well known expert in welding program management, weld processes and customized welding equipment, and in the coming months he will be building a staff of design and welding engineers to support customer applications using advanced welding and associated technologies.

Following a challenging year for the welding industry in 2009, Arc Machines is enjoying excellent growth in 2010 fueled by a strong recovery in the USA and the Far East, and by the highly successful launch of their new Model 205 tube welding Power Supply. Further new product launches are planned over the next 12 months which will be supplemented by targeted acquisitions that support the company's long term growth strategy.
