Armour Technology Solutions' "Lip Charmours" to Launch "Movember" Campaign in Barrie and Simcoe Coun

Online, September 30, 2011 (Newswire.com) - Rates of prostate cancer in men are comparable to breast cancer rates in women, with a man being diagnosed with the disease every 2.7 minutes. According to recent findings, men are 40 per cent more likely than women to die from cancer due to the simple act of putting off doctor visits and failing to lead a proactively healthy lifestyle.

Armour Technology Solutions, a Microsoft partner in Barrie providing IT solutions throughout Simcoe County has formed the "Armour Lip Charmours", a team which will be raising money for prostate cancer research through the growing of moustaches as a part of the annual fundraising campaign. The team of the "Armour Lip Charmours" will consist of members of the Armour Technology team including members of management such as President, Vice President and Marketing Manager. The goal is to raise a minimum amount of $2500 locally toward prostate cancer research.

"Movember, the month formerly known as November, aims to change the statistics of this disease", states Chris Holmes, President of Armour Technology Solutions. "We hope the Lip Charmours can entertain, educate and enlighten in regard to the importance of prostate cancer awareness and research".

Holmes' hope is that the formation of the Lip Charmours will be an annual event and also complement the local Barrie company's local charitable efforts. "Only through involvement can we truly make a difference. Making a difference is what it is all about", states Holmes whose organization is also active in charitable activities involving the Barrie Food Bank in addition to other worthy local causes. The company is also up for a local award as new business of the year.
