Artsia Announces New Art Search Engine!

Recently launched global art platform Artsia has announced the launch of a new art-focused search engine.

After several months of development, global art marketplace Artsia.com has announced the launch of its new Art Search Engine.

The new functionality is an integral part of the site, and allows users to easily browse and find art within the exact price range, style, medium, size and location they are looking for, with the ability to sort results based on price, relevance and search popularity.

Artsia was only launched in September and has seen a huge influx of interest from professional artists, curators and art collectors from all corners of the world.

"The response has been phenomenal" say co-founder Colin Mansell. "Artsia started as just an idea several years ago, as a way to promote great contemporary artists work online. But since its inception, we have seen an enormous amount of interest in what we're doing. It's turning the traditional notions of the art world on its head, and it's really exciting to be a part of that."

Artsia launched with 500 member artists from around the world, with everything from realist to abstract art works by selected contemporary artists, who were chosen by Artsia's respected curatorial team to exhibit their work on the site.

Over the next few months, the team plan to bring on board 1,500 more artists to display their work on the site and by the end of next year plan to be have grown to become the largest curated online gallery in the world.

"It's all about careful curation, and ensuring we only represent the highest quality work," says lead curator Emily Peterson. "There are many sites out there that are like supermarket with amateur work hanging alongside the work of modern day masters, and that's a great shame. Our job is to ensure that we bring a really exciting and interesting selection of work to our audience, and that is exactly what we are doing."

Over the coming months, Artsia has some big plans which will be duly announced, with national site launches planned for the UK, US and Canada. These are exciting times for online art, and Artsia would appear to be the one to watch!
