Following on from its roaring success in Hong Kong and Singapore the region's leading event for corporate real estate, facilities and workplace projects is ready to hit another of Asia's key markets.

Dozens of business opportunities will present themselves to delegates and sponsors of the 7th Asia Office Space Congress with its first landmark appearance in Shanghai. The first Asia Space Congress to be held in mainland China will see the renowned list of speakers discuss discuss major relocation projects, corporate real estate market information, new tenant work place trends and the changing landscape of industry players in China.

As with the Hong Kong and Singapore events the Shanghai Congress will be the perfect opportunity to meet real estate and facilities executives from major corporates. With foreign direct investment in Shanghai increased 15 percent up more than three times the rate in 2009, Shanghai is in need of an event that will give multinationals inside information about what to expect in the coming year. Already regulations offering 30 percent rental rebates have attracted major international players, with Novartis, Vale, Walt Disney, Kraft Foods, TESCO, Dow Chemical and Coca Cola Coca being just a few of the 800-odd companies that call Shanghai regional HQ.

But the Asia Office Congress will not only feature international companies, major Chinese corporates are choosing to establish HQs in the city and their office take up is substantial - over one third of the million square metres of new grade A Space coming online this year will be owner occupied with companies such as Ping An and the Agricultural Bank leading the charge.

With plans to establish Shanghai's place as a major financial centre content relevant to major financial institutions will be high on the agenda as usual. However with the broad range of facilities under the care of large office space users, the Congress will also fulfill the needs of companies looking for R&D, logistics and even some manufacturing spaces.

With many attendees at the office Space Congress wearing multiple hats, the content has been developed to give everyone from CEOs to administration managers useful take home information and great contacts. Topics will range from the macro economic effects on office space prices (said to be going up another 15% this year) through to changes in workplace requirements that will have broad reaching effects on the future of work.
