Asia Plantation Capital Partners with University Team and Siam Trees

Online, July 5, 2011 (Newswire.com) - Associate professor Dr. Ngampong Kongkathip of Kasetsart University has also joined APC's team, bringing decades of experience and state-of-the-art technology to the company's agarwood division.

Siam Trees was founded in 2002. The Swiss-run company has its own oud distillery in Thailand's Kau Yai area approximately 120 km from Bangkok. Siam Trees' oud has been independently certified as grade A and has a future purchase contract in process with a European based global cosmetics giant as well as local regular buyers. In view of this APC are planning to expand the distillation facility's oud output capacity 600% by 2012. APC are also constructing a sister plant that will utilize cutting edge distillation technology which in tests is producing a 500% increase in distillation yields versus standard techniques.

Asia Plantation Capital will be retaining the current European management team. In addition to managing the subdivision, they will give advice on the planting, maintenance, and harvesting of APC's trees and bamboo.

Asia Plantation Capital has also welcomed Dr. Ngampong Kongkathip to their team of experts. As an associate professor at Kasetsart University, Dr. Ngampong has conducted research in numerous fields related to chemistry including isolating bioactive compounds from herbs for use in medicine and the synthesis of organic compounds for use in agriculture, cosmetics, and the treatment of diseases such as HIV, bird flu, and malaria.

She has also developed an agarwood inoculation kit proven to provide higher yields and higher-quality wood than existing kits. This kit is the result of almost ten years of research by a team of scientists headed by Dr. Ngampong. It has been used on over 5,000 trees and resulted in a 100% success rate 6-8 months after inoculation. The kit and accompanying method, protected by three patents, has resulted in oud that has been independently certified as grade A+.
