Online, May 14, 2013 (Newswire.com) - ASM Research, Inc. (ASM) is pleased to announce its selection as the 5th Annual Small and Emerging Contractors Advisory Forum (SECAF) Small Business Partner of the Year ($25 to $100 million revenue). The winners were announced at the SECAF Awards Gala, on Thursday, May 2, 2013 at the Hilton McLean Tysons Corner. The Small Business Partner of the Year is awarded to a company that has demonstrated its ability to establish and support mentorships, teaming, partnerships, and other beneficial programs for small businesses. This is the second year ASM is being recognized by SECAF for its profound contributions and leadership to their small business partners.
"It is a great honor to recognize companies, such as ASM, that consistently demonstrate the commitment, drive and leadership that enable the government contractor community as a whole to reach higher levels," said Kwesi Rogers, chairman of SECAF and president of Federal National Commercial Credit. "We are privileged to celebrate their accomplishments amongst colleagues and peers."
ASM has a long history of active support to small business and mentor-protege programs deriving from its own roots as a Women Owned Small Business. On April 23, 2013, ASM held its first Small Business Conference to showcase the capabilities of their small business partners and provide a networking opportunity for participants to connect with other small businesses and potential partners. Thirty-four companies attended the event at their corporate headquarters.
"I'm very proud of the extraordinary commitment of each individual at ASM who contributes to the success of our outstanding programs. The success of our small business partners and this award are testaments that our efforts have produced extraordinary results," said Jeri Lassiter, ASM's chairman and CEO.
"Congratulations to all the SECAF award winners. Year in and year out, they prove to be tremendous advocates for our industry. Moreover, they are shining examples for other government contractors and small business partners out there," added Mark Moore, John Marshall Bank, and Scott Brezler, Dixon Hughes Goodman, co-chairs for the Awards Gala selection committee. "We thank them, along with all of our finalists and nominees, for their stellar contributions to the contractor community."
ASM is also the recipient of two additional prestigious awards in recognition of its support to the efforts of small business through mentoring.
• 2012 VA Veteran-Owned Small Business Mentor Award-Recognizing significant contributions that illustrate the spirit of outstanding support for the Veteran entrepreneurship program. ASM was eligible for this award as one of a select group of organizations chosen by VA for the first ever VA Mentor-Protege Program.
