ASM Research is the winner of the 2012 GOVstar Award, Technical Trailblazer Large Category.
Online, November 7, 2012 (Newswire.com) - Washington SmartCEO recognized ASM Research, Inc. (ASM) as a winner of the 2012 GOVstar Award, Technical Trailblazer Large Category at a ceremony on Thursday, October 18, 2012 at the Hyatt Regency Crystal City. Forty-five elite government contractors were recognized for their many commendable attributes and for striving for excellence in this complex and competitive sector. Of these forty-five finalists, fifteen winners were announced live at the event. This year's finalists collectively generated $7 billion in annual revenue and employed over 14,000 individuals. The evening included an engaging, video-packed awards ceremony where local government contracting firms were honored for their technology innovation, workplace environment, growth, veteran support and contributions to the industry and marketplace.
ASM was recognized for their work on their longest standing contract, the Army Training Requirements and Resources System (ATRRS). This award is presented to a government contractor that has developed an innovative technological product or breakthrough. For more than 30 years, ATRRS has been the Army's authoritative source system for training management that includes scheduling, registration, training seat allocations, student tracking, funding, manpower allocation, data analysis, reporting and personnel training records.
"We have earned tremendous recognition for our extraordinary commitment and we continue to build extraordinary results for our Service members, customers, and our nation," said John Fraser, President and COO of ASM. "Our technology solutions are increasing the efficiency of the Army, better equipping them to analyze critical data to make important decisions, reducing development efforts and allowing our client to be proactive in avoiding waste."
ASM developed three new innovative components to the ATRRS system:
• UARS - The Unit Automated Reservation System manages individual training seats/allocations that support Army Force Generation Model RESET.
• iBIS - The Integrated Business Intelligence Solution seamlessly integrates existing ATRRS web interfaces and data structure with an industry leading COTS business intelligence product.
• WebFOCUS - An integrated reporting module available on the web that creates a centralized business intelligence platform supporting all ATRRS web application systems.
The GOVstar program, now in its third year of celebration in Washington, kicked off with a nomination process ending this past May. The finalists, who were chosen by an independent panel of judges, were featured in the October issue of SmartCEO magazine and also celebrated at the 2012 GOVstar Awards ceremony, attended by over 500 executives, friends and family.
"Each year we recognize government contracting firms and their leaders for their dedication to the industry and passion for their work. And each year I am even more impressed by these Greater Washington companies," says Jaime Nespor, Group Publisher of SmartCEO magazine. "They are inspirational, patriotic and we are proud to recognize them for their achievements."
