Aspira Now Provides The Courses Needed for Licensed Professionals Wanting to Pursue the Newly Established LPCC License in California

Online, February 11, 2011 (Newswire.com) - For licensed Marriage and Family Therapists outside of California who typically seek MFT continuing education, there is a new path available in California. The CA BBS (Board of Behavioral Sciences) has implemented a new license, the LPCC (licensed professional clinical counselor). Mental health professionals licensed outside of California are able to apply. For a short period of time, the CA BBS has made available a process to apply for their LPCC license, called the "grandparenting" path. This path will differ for those licensed outside of California from those licensed in the state of California. For those that are non-BBS licensed professionals additional courses are required.

* 18 contact hours of training in California law and professional ethics;

* 15 contact hours of instruction in crisis or trauma counseling.
