Astrapak Expands Aggressively, Working with Some of the Biggest Names in The Food and Drink Industry
Online, July 26, 2010 (Newswire.com) - (Norwich, UK)-Astrapak is an aggressively expanding packaging company, working with names as big as Unilever, Pioneer Foods, Tiger Brands, Clover Danone McCain Foods, and Pick'n'Pay. In an interview with Food & Drink Digital, Marco Baglione, Astrapak's CEO explains how his company is able to bring in these big clients.
"Astrapak is the largest dedicated plastic packing company in South Africa, with a turnover of around R2.8 billion," he says. "That's not to say that large is always best, but it does reflect something about the company that we've reached that size. We have a very good technology base, our geographical position is excellent and we have some highly talented people in the group."
Talking to Food & Drink Digital, Baglione covers the history of the company, the secrets of its success, his opinions on the future of the industry, and how it has been affected by the global recession.
"Many factors have impacted onto consumers in all income brackets," Baglione says, "so I don't foresee a massive economic take-off. Maybe next year, but in the mean time we're concentrating on maintaining market position and market share."
