AT&T Pantech Pocket Review

Online, January 14, 2012 (Newswire.com) - The Pantech Pocket is not a traditional smart phone. Measuring 4.52 by 3.07 by 0.44 inches, it looks square and definitely stands out next to the long and thin smart phones. While the name may be deceiving, as it probably won't fit comfortably in your pocket, it is still light and comfortable to hold, with a full plastic build and soft touch, rubberized finish. The 4-inch 600x800 pixel resolution screen is good for a mid-level phone with 16 million color support and text looks crisp and clean. The Pocket runs on Android Gingerbread and Pantech added a few features of their own. On the lock screen there is a circle with spokes coming out to individual apps. There are 7 home screens available once the phone is unlocked and there are 3 pages of apps ready to go. These apps include Google Services, AT&T apps, Facebook, Twitter, and Amazon Kindle, among others. It also has all of the standard smart phone features - Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, GPS, multimedia player, and email capabilities. It does have a 5 megapixel camera and 720p HD video capture, however, it does not have a flash and has a fairly long shutter lag. It runs on a single core Qualcomm 1GHz processor. The Pocket comes preloaded with a 2GB memory card and can support up to a 32GB card. The battery is 1650mAh and has a rated talk time of 6 hours and standby time of 432 hours, which should be enough for a full day without a charge.
