ATEN Unveils First Modular Matrix Solution
Sijhih District., New Taipei City, Taiwan, December 30, 2014 (Newswire.com) - ATEN, the leading provider of IT connectivity and management solutions, today unveiled the VM1600 – 16x16 Modular Matrix Switch featuring the revolutionary Seamless Switch technology that provides real-time control and switching between 16 video sources and 16 video displays. The device features blisteringly fast, close to 0-second video switching and playback of Full HD content in real-time with no latency. The VM1600 is perfect for monitoring or broadcasting time critical activities, such as: live event broadcasting, security surveillance and transport management.
“With Video Wall applications becoming more and more diversified while pro-A/V products getting more and more competitive, we saw a need to create an intuitive and cost effective solution. Unlike our competitors, the VM1600 not only has expandable capabilities but also combines the signal processing and distribution function in a single chassis. This allows for easy video wall integration without using extra video wall processors, which simplifies the installation process and reduces costs”, Kevin Chen, President of ATEN International.
The VM1600 is built-in with a unique Scaler function in ATEN FPGA design that helps unify different video source formats to render best output resolutions from 720p to 1080p (Full HD) on designated displays with uncompromised precision. Empowered by the unique Scaler flexibility, it can be perfectly integrated with video wall systems in large-scale A/V operations where collaborative screen displays are required for real-time video distribution. Through its intuitive GUI design, up to 32 profiles can be created to save screen layout settings, which are viable in a wide range of applications. In addition, with ATEN’s exclusive EDID Expert technology, the VM1600 features selectable EDID settings for optimum display quality throughout the installation that carries out smoother power-up and faster switching between displays.
The device has a hot-swappable modular design which allows quick insertion and removal of hot pluggable components such as a Modular I/O Board, Power Supply and Cooling Fan. It also comes with a redundant power module, which can be used as a backup component in case of power outage. These features lead to higher system reliability and improve overall system performance without interrupting existing operations.
Availability
VM1600 is easily expandable and accommodates a lineup of hot-swappable modules. It is available worldwide and has a number of connection types:
* VM7804 / VM8804: 4-Port HDMI Input / Output Board
* VM7604 / VM8604: 4-Port DVI Input / Output Board
