Athletes Give Reason To Cheer About Breast Cancer

LOUISVILLE, Ky. - Great Lakes Championship Company, GLCC, a cheerleading and dance competition company, will partner with the Susan G. Komen Foundation to raise money at GLCC's Derby Cup Slam October 23rd at Broadbent Arena in Louisville, Ky.

"GLCC has been supporting different charities at competitions for years," said Sheri Wargnier, Owner of GLCC. "This particular charity made sense to partner with, and their new passionately pink campaign is a great way to increase awareness for breast cancer."

"Nearly everyone knows someone who has been affected by breast cancer. Going Passionately Pink is an easy and fun way to show your support for ending the disease," said breast cancer survivor Hala Moddelmog, president and CEO of Komen for the Cure. "Passionately Pink for the Cure participants play a critical role in helping us create a world without breast cancer-and they do it in style!"

GLCC is part of The Jam Brands, one of the nation's largest cheer and dance competition companies. Saturday's competition will host 30 cheer and dance teams and will welcome over 3,000 athletes and spectators. During the competition audience members will compete at different games to raise funds for breast cancer awareness. The event will run from 1:00 PM to 3:45 PM and is $12.00 to attend.
