Atlanta Falcons' Curtis Lofton to Host Rally Foundation Youth Cancer Fans at Big Monday Night Game
Falcons' star linebacker, Curtis Lofton faces divisional opponent New Orleans Saints during a big game Monday Night at the Georgia Dome. Lofton will have some special fans cheering him on that have faced tougher opposition-Childhood Cancer.
Online, December 27, 2010 (Newswire.com) - Atlanta Falcons' star linebacker, Curtis Lofton faces divisional opponent New Orleans Saints during a big game Monday Night at the Georgia Dome. While fans will be cheering the team on toward victory, Lofton will have some special fans cheering him on as well that have faced tougher opposition-Childhood Cancer. Rally Foundation for Childhood Cancer Research (Rally) will have five (5) of their Rally Kids and their families in attendance at the game Monday night who have fought or are fighting childhood Cancer as guests of Lofton.
Lofton, the Falcons' leading tackler, has a heart to tackle cancer going back to his high school years when his coach's daughter was diagnosed with Cancer. Lofton has a passion for the Rally Kids as he has focused this football season to help raise funds and awareness to the Rally Foundation with his Lofton 50 Tackle Challenge. For each tackle Lofton makes this season, pledges of .50 to $150 per tackle goes to the Rally Foundation. To date, the Lofton 50 Tackle Challenge has raised over $21,000 for Rally Foundation Childhood Cancer Research.
For every dollar Rally receives, 93 cents goes to support all phases of childhood cancer research according to audited financials. In its first four years, Rally has given more than $1.6 million in childhood cancer research grants. Rally supports 45 projects nationwide.
