Atlanta Resident Opens Georgia's First College Hunks Hauling Junk Franchise

Company provides jobs for local college students and assists metro-Atlanta residents and businesses with spring cleaning

ATLANTA (March 10, 2010) - Atlanta resident Roger Panitch is the newest franchise owner for College Hunks Hauling Junk, the largest junk removal franchise in the U.S. and one of the fastest-growing franchises in America. With the first day of spring right around the corner, Panitch established the local service just in time to assist area residents and businesses with spring cleaning.

The Tampa-based company, which has 26 franchises throughout the U.S., removes any¬thing from commercial and residential properties such as furniture, appliances, clothes, electronics, yard waste and building debris and then recycles or donates more than 60 percent of items collected. College Hunks Hauling Junk helps 'pack rats' or 'hoarders' finally rid themselves of clutter in attics and basements and be able to park cars in their garages again.

Panitch, a Sandy Springs father of three, didn't initially set out to own his own company when he began his career two decades ago managing a chain of restaurants and climbing the ranks in the pharmaceutical industry (holding various sales, management and recruiting titles), but like many working in today's unpredictable corporate environment, he yearned to be his own boss.

"I was initially drawn to the company because of its straightforward concept as an environmentally-friendly turnkey operation and because it seems to be a natural fit in Atlanta, a traditionally mobile city where many are presently downsizing and therefore need to get rid of clutter and unused items," said Panitch. "And, admittedly, College Hunks Hauling Junk's catchy name and unique marketing strategy certainly helped to get my attention."

Panitch, who already has two college-age employees, plans to grow his staff by recruiting at area college campuses to provide custom¬ers with professional and friendly teams, capitalizing on the 'big man on campus' image of clean-cut college students. "College Hunks Hauling Junk has created a company culture that is not typical for a trash removal business," added Panitch, who has been dubbed "The College Professor" by his employees. "It is a company that customers can feel good about, as one of College Hunks Hauling Junk's core values is to build leaders and help local youth develop business skills that will carry them forward in life."

ABOUT COLLEGE HUNKS HAULING JUNK
The College Hunks Hauling Junk concept began in 2003 as a summer job when two college buddies began hauling junk using cargo van that belonged to one of the student's mothers. Today, it is a multi-million dollar enterprise that focuses on commercial and residential junk removal. The company donates a portion of revenue to College Bound (www.collegebound.org), a non-profit scholarship program that mentors and provides financial aid to underprivileged students.
