Online, August 9, 2011 (Newswire.com) - The seventh annual Red Bull U.S. Grand Prix took place on Friday, July 22 - Sunday, July 24 at the Mazda Raceway in Monterey, Calif. A total of 136,000 motorcycle enthusiasts were at the event, one percent being from other countries. 3,000 people learned about Slime, worldwide leader in tire care products, including tire and tube sealants, gauges and inflators distributed in over 80 countries. The makers of Slime conducted a poll at the event, asking a list of questions to over 500 attendees who visited the Slime Trailer.
99% of the poll participants were men and 90% were over the age of 30. 99% of participants said they ride their motorcycle on the highway, while only 1% did not. Slime representatives asked respondents what they would do if they get a flat tire. A whopping 60% said they would call a friend if they had cell service, while 36% said they would call roadside assistance. A measly 1% indicated they'd cry, while 3% said they'd repair the flat themselves. For those who were not prepared to repair their flat tire (97 out of 100), Slime representatives asked what they would do in this instance. 100% said they would wait a long time! After waiting a long time, 80% would get towed, 18% would get towed with a flat-bed or trailer and 2% thought they would get towed and get their bike scratched or damaged (due to the towing process). 100% of participants said they would next go somewhere else with a friend or the tow service with their motorcycle and 100% agreed they would pay for a repair or a new tire. 100% said they would then ride to where they wanted to go in the first place, after wasting half a day or more having their tire repaired with 100% agreeing that they would pay way too much for the repair.
Seeing the inconvenience caused by getting a flat tire, Slime representatives asked participants if they would prefer to carry the Slime Motor Spair, the Slime Power Sport Tire Inflator with Slime tire or tube sealant, or the Slime compact plug Kit on their bike or riding group for a cost of $40. 95% said they would, and only 5% said they'd rather deal with the tedious flat tire repair.
Bill Ermerins, said, "At the Moto GP event at Laguna Seca, we visited the Slime vendor, and used Slime Tire Sealant to repair a puncture on the right side tread area of the rear tire on my '97 Ducati 900SS. We safely rode over 400 miles to get home. So, from now on we carry the SLIME MOTO SPAIR, since we can air up anytime anywhere with it." Slime makes a Compact Plug Kit - the reamer, plugger, plugs, glue and knife store in the handle." "We sold out of these products! These are super, serious enthusiasts with a lot of passion and they are ready to spend money for their favorite hobby- motorcycles," says Joe Bowman, Slime's Consumer Marketing Director.
