ATTO Technology Announces Industry's ONLY 16Gb/s Fibre Channel Quad-Channel Host Bus Adapter
Online, January 21, 2013 (Newswire.com) - ATTO Technology Inc. today introduced its Celerity 16Gb/s Fibre Channel Quad-Channel Host Bus Adapter (HBA), the first of its kind in the market. These new HBAs provide the highest bandwidth and lowest latency available, as well as reliable and scalable connectivity, at twice the maximum throughput of previous solutions. They address the needs of Linux and Windows® platforms in high performance computing, virtualization, and other high IOP environments typically found in enterprise data centers.
"ATTO is excited to kick off our 25th year of providing the market's most innovative portfolio of storage and network connectivity solutions, with the launch of this industry-first quad-channel 16 Gb/s adapter," said Wayne Arvidson, vice president of marketing at ATTO Technology, Inc. "These products deliver the highest bandwidth and port density, providing original equipment manufacturers and system integrators with an unprecedented solution when designing state-of-the-art data infrastructures."
Currently available for OEMs, Celerity 16Gb/s Quad-Port Fibre Channel HBAs are designed to support higher IOP capabilities, allowing users to handle the increasing storage requirements seen in more robust virtualized workloads. Additionally, ATTO's target mode drivers enable OEMs to develop unique 16Gb/s storage and server solutions.
Celerity 16Gb/s HBAs currently support VMware 5.1 and Windows Hyper-V® Server 2008R2, with Server 2012 updates scheduled for late Q1 2013. The Celerity product line features ATTO's Advanced Data Streaming (ADSTM), which manages latency in real-time environments resulting in higher application performance, better transaction processing, and the ability to handle larger workloads and client counts. They also incorporate ATTO's MultiPath Director™, a proprietary technology that allows not just servers, but also high-performance Windows® and Linux workstations direct connection to enterprise class storage.
"ATTO has been a pioneer in the high-performance data storage industry for a quarter of a century," added Arvidson. "The addition of this industry-first quad-channel 16Gb/s card is further proof of our commitment to deliver innovative storage and network connectivity solutions that solve the toughest challenges facing enterprises today, and in the future."
