Attorney Sean Quinn Discusses OSHA "Top 10"
Online, May 10, 2011 (Newswire.com) - Pennsylvania trial lawyer Sean Quinn has published an article titled Workplace Safety: Top 10 OSHA Violations. The article summarizes the 10 most common workplace violations as tracked by the U.S. government's Occupational Safety and Health Administration.
"OSHA has reported annually on violations related to workplace safety for years," says Sean Quinn, a member of the law firm of Sheridan & Murray, LLC. "There were over 94,000 violations reported in 2010. Unfortunately, the same issues appear year after year. Employers have the responsibility to provide a safe working environment for their workers. Until companies are willing to address safety, we will continue to see workers injured or killed in preventable workplace incidents." Quinn suggests that workers take advantage of all safety training offered by their employers and reminds those who are injured on the job to make certain they report the injury to their employer as soon as possible after it occurs.
The Occupational Safety and Health Administration sets and enforces workplace safety standards, and provides training, outreach, education and assistance. OSHA is part of the U.S. Department of Labor.
