Augusta Systems Releases EdgeFrontier Version 6.0
Online, April 12, 2011 (Newswire.com) - Augusta Systems Inc., a provider of technologies that power the intelligent convergence of devices, systems and networks, has released a new version of EdgeFrontier, its middleware platform for integration and policy management.

EdgeFrontier version 6.0 includes:
•Information security enhancements for EdgeFrontier products based upon a comprehensive security and risk assessment;
•System and performance monitoring and notification enhancements supporting user assessment of data, event and automated actions and control functions;
•Simultaneous access availability to multiple EdgeFrontier systems for individual users and to the EdgeFrontier Engine for multiple users to enable collaborative configuration; and,
•Other enhancements to usability and application performance.
EdgeFrontier products support integration and normalization of data, events and control functions from diverse devices, systems and networks, regardless of manufacturer or communications protocol. These data sources include sensors, wireless sensor networks, RFID systems, video devices and systems, access control systems, metering and measurement devices, actuators, databases and file repositories and others. Additionally, the products provide structures for event processing and configuration of event or policy-based actions through a policy engine.
EdgeFrontier has been utilized in numerous safety and security deployments, including local emergency response, port and border security, military surveillance, school and institution campus security and private industry security. The software has also been used in electricity industry smart grid efforts and in other government and industrial monitoring and automation efforts.
